Hire Desk Manager

Elev8 Access Platforms is looking for a driven and motivated Hiredesk Manager with previous experience working in the hire sector.  The successful candidate will be based at our Head office in Sheffield and must have a flexible approach to working hours.

We’re looking for someone who is resilient with a high degree of confidence and the ability to multi-task.  Being able to communicate effectively and build solid relationships with our customers is critical.  Attention to detail is a must in this role as you will be required to input data into our hire software.  The individual must be pro-active to ensure all departments work together, coordinating the hire of our impressive fleet of access platforms.

Key responsibilities

  • To effectively line manage the Hire Desk Sales department adopting a proactive approach, commercially prioritising the market and key customers to ensure that the targeted KPI’s and achieved.
  • Providing first line leadership and direction of the team, managing performance and improvement requirements.
  • Develop and update KPI report weekly.
  • Ensure all administrative tasks are accurately completed within the department, and remain up-to-date.
  • Ensure compliance to legislative requirements and internal quality, health, safety and environmental policies and standards.

On a day-to-day basis, you can expect to be desk-based, working directly with our other departments, liaising regularly with customers, operators and engineers to ensure minimal delay in fulfilling the hire needs of our customers.

Experience of using Syrinx software and telephone Sales experience would be an advantage.

The role requires you to have the ability to work in an ever-changing fast paced environment.

MEWP Operator & Driver (Sheffield and Falkirk based roles available)

We are recruiting driven and motivated MEWP Operatives & drivers who have previous experience and qualifications. We are one of the leading truck mount access, traffic management and contract lifting companies in the UK, servicing Renewables, Telecoms, Offshore, Refineries, Ports and TV / Media. Working on some of the world’s biggest engineering projects

The successful candidate will be based out of our depot in Sheffield or our depot in Falkirk, but will be expected to travel to our customer sites across the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe.

The role requires you to work in an ever-changing fast paced environment and required a flexible approach to working hours as there will be a requirement to work away from time to time.

Our fleet is world class and well maintained which is the most varied and technically advanced in the UK.  The ideal candidate will be part of an experienced team of operators working on a variety of projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Full UK Driving licence
  • HGV Class 2 Licence
  • IPAF 1B
  • Previous experience operating Bronto, Ruthmann and Palfinger is preferred

Appointed Person SOUTH ENGLAND

The successful candidate will be based in the South of England (Remote working). The position will involve travelling to our customer sites across the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe.  The successful candidate must have a flexible approach to working hours and there will be a requirement to work away from time to time.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Survey and complete lift plan inline with customer requirements.
  • Supervising lifts and perform slinger and signaller duties
  • Maintaining professional working relationships with our customer
  • Ensuring you are meeting the currents legislations and are up to date with LOLER1998, BS7121
  • Responsible for inspection and maintenance of lifting accessories

MEWP Engineer / Fitter SHEFFIELD

We are looking for a  MEWP Engineer/ Fitter who has previous experience and qualifications to join our existing team.  The successful candidate will be based at our Head office in Sheffield but will be expected to travel to our customer sites across the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe.

HGV Class 2 License is preferable

The successful candidate must have a flexible approach to working hour and on occasions there will be a requirement to work away from time to time, however the role will be primarily based in the workshop in Sheffield.

Minimum requirements

  • Full UK Driving licence (Maximum 3 points)
  • Level 2 in Mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a HGV fitter and Engineer
  • IPAF 1b and PDI preferable

Trainee Traffic Management Operative Sheffield

We are looking for a motivated and keen trainee to join our traffic management team.  You will be given training and support from our established team of traffic management operatives.

This is a customer facing role, and so you need to be comfortable speaking to clients and leave them with a great impression of Elev8.  You also need to be organised and have good time keeping.

The role involves flexibility of hours as we provide traffic management when our clients require it.  The role is based out of our depot in Attercliffe, Sheffield. There will be travel to the locations that our customers require traffic management, and this could be anywhere in the UK.  Occasional overnight stays may be required.

 

THE ROLE INVOLVES

  • Travelling to our clients location of work and setting up or removing traffic management equipment.
  • Following company procedures
  • Use of technology to complete job paperwork on company tablets or smart phones
  • A mixture of team working and working alone
  • Working outdoors
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Communicating with our customers, the general public and managers in a professional manner
  • Ensuring all safety measures are met, including performing daily vehicle checks, following method statements and reporting accidents and near misses.

Traffic Management: Streetworks Permit Administrator

Elev8 Access Platforms is recruiting a driven, motivated Streetworks Permit Administrator who has previous experience using Symology. We are one of the leading truck mount access, traffic management and contract lifting companies in the UK, servicing Renewables, Telecoms, Offshore, Refineries, Ports and TV / Media. Working on some of the world’s biggest engineering projects

The successful candidate will report to the Head office based in Sheffield, however this role will be primarily remote working position.

The successful candidate must have a flexible approach to working hours

Responsibilities:

  • Submission of all appropriate Street Works Notices and Permits via Symology, Street Manager or other notice/permit systems.

  • Assessing permit applications from operations staff to ensure all works are compliant with legislation and appropriate permit scheme conditions.
  • Receiving and recording timely starts, stops, and register activities to avoid financial penalty.
  • Liaising with operations staff and Local Authorities to facilitate applications for road closures, portable traffic signals or other supporting criteria required for successful permit applications.
  • Managing requests for early starts/extensions/amendments required for notices/permits.
  • Monitoring permit comments and challenges and other ‘in progress’ matters received from Local Authorities.
  • Receiving, investigating, and actioning S74s, FPNs, defects and other noticing/permitting matters.
  • Managing defects by way of arranging remedial notices/permits, booking JSIs and ensuring timely responses to NRASWA Sec 72 defect inspection timescales.
  • Updating and running reports associated with street works performance and financial penalty tracking.
  • Influencing and promoting consistent street works back office improvement, quality, and performance
  • Supporting MAP Group (UK)’s Street Works Manager

Minimum requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience using Symology
  • General Administration Skill required
